Child Safety First partners with referring professionals to connect families with structured education, practical parenting support, and supervised parent-child contact.

Who may refer

Referrals are welcomed from courts, attorneys, guardians ad litem, social services professionals, schools, treatment providers, victim-service programs, and other authorized community partners. Families may also contact Child Safety First directly.

Virginia Court-Approved Parent Education

Co-Parenting: Two Parents, Two Homes addresses separation, grief, conflict, child development, parenting across households, domestic violence, safety considerations, and parenting plans. A certificate is issued after completion of all requirements.

Child Behavior Management

Practical education for parents, caregivers, and educators on child development, behavior, routines, positive reinforcement, and developmentally appropriate responses.

Parent Coaching

Individualized education and skill-building related to structure, communication, routines, positive reinforcement, and family goals. Coaching is educational and is not therapy or custody evaluation.

Supervised Contact and Exchanges

Structured parent-child contact or exchanges conducted under applicable court orders and written service requirements. Availability, location, safety needs, and documentation expectations are confirmed before service begins.

Referral process

1. Submit an inquiry Identify the requested service and preferred contact method. Do not send sensitive records through the general contact form.
2. Initial review Child Safety First confirms service fit, availability, geographic coverage, and any immediate documentation needs.
3. Required documents Applicable court orders, protective orders, referral instructions, and authorizations are requested through an appropriate delivery method.
4. Scheduling Participants receive service expectations, payment information, intake requirements, and available dates.

  • Information is released only as permitted by law, authorization, court order, and applicable service agreements
